Week 1
Today marks the end of my first week of Empowered at GlowTouch. I have learned many helpful things along the way. For this first week I would have to say the most challenging thing I had to face was learning the codes. Learning the code at first was difficult but once I got use to them it became second nature.
While working with Treehouse this week I have learned a lot of new and interesting things. One of the most interesting things I have learned was the Codes themselves. The reason the codes are my favorite is because of how cool I find it that simple and easy numbers letters and symbols can create something amazing in the end. My favorite code would have to be <a href=”link”target=_blank></a>. The reason i like this one is because this very long code does the most simplest thing, opens the link selected in a new tab.
Today we had a guest speaker, Ms. Fitzpatrick. Ms. Fitzpatrick came to speak to us about young black empowered girls, such as herself, and how it is important for us to gather the tools we need to make a difference in this world. Another think that stood out to me was the statement that had been said about how important relations are in this world. Relations in this world is like water to your body you need it to live and be successful. Relations can bring you a lot of great opportunities in the world of business. When you are at a job interview and someone with a lot more experience but you have all the connections and relations, nine times out of ten you will get that job.
My biggest challenge over all would be adjusting to the nine to five schedule. I am use to getting up early but I’m not use to not being able to take naps when I get tired. The way I have worked through this problem was to get up walk around or just simple eat or play with my fidgeting toys.
Overall I would have to say that my first week of Empowered was very productive.
